6 Months With Kate

A few hours ago we got home from Kate’s 6 month well-check appointment. Everything was all good! Her growth and development are both on point, and she got her next round of shots (always fun). We played upstairs for a bit, and now she’s napping. Her afternoon nap is typically her longest, so I’m hoping she gives me another few minutes of peace so I can get this post scheduled. A big reason why I started this blog was to chronicle my memories with Kate, but I’ve been slacking lately. I haven’t done an “X Months with Kate” update since she turned 3 months old! Aside from being busy (which isn’t a good excuse because we’re all busy), sometimes I overthink the blog content. Not everything has to be “perfect” and not every post is going to be one a larger audience wants to read. And that’s okay! First and foremost, the blog is for me and our family. So more posts about Kate it is!

The Liz List - August 16, 2019

Happy Friday, everyone! Last night my aunt and grandmother arrived from Houston. They’re staying at our house with my mom to watch Kate while David and I travel to Las Vegas for a little weekend getaway. As I mentioned on Instagram this week, this will be the first time both of us are leaving her, so it’s definitely a MOMENT for us as parents. I have been away from her for one night before, but David was with her at home so - until now - one of us has always been with her overnight. We’ll miss her, but I know she’s in good hands. And honestly, a couple days in Vegas sounds pretty nice right now!

The Liz List - August 9, 2019

How is it already August?! I can’t believe summer is almost over. It flew by for me. By the time you’re reading this, we’ll probably already be headed home to Austin, but this week David and I have been in Nashville with Kate visiting my brother and sister-in-law. David had a work conference there, so it worked out perfectly for us to fly up and spend a few days hanging out. They haven’t seen Kate since she was about a week old, so she’s changed quite a bit since then! We always have the best time with them, and I wish they lived closer. They’re both musicians though, so Nashville is their base and I don’t see that changing anytime soon!

The Liz List - July 26, 2019

It’s been a month since I’ve last published a Liz List! Yikes! What can I say… I’ve been a mixture of out of town and busy combined with just wanting to take it easy and enjoy my time with Kate whenever I DO get some downtime. Plus David’s got a more relaxed summer schedule this year since he’s coming off of busy season, and it’s been nice having him around. And… just to keep things honest… I started watching Vanderpump Rules from Season 1 (I had only seen the most recent season), so that’s taken up a chunk of my time. 😂#priorities
