Kate's Pink and Gold Christmas Nursery
Confession: Kate’s nursery is the only room in the house that’s fully decorated for Christmas. Time got away from me! Though to be fair, there were fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. We also recently started a new construction project, so with the mess that comes along with that process I decided to call it quits on the rest of the house. Why decorate a construction site?
Sometimes you just have to cut yourself some slack! And there’s always next year.
Kate’s room, however… I couldn’t skip that! I’ve been wanting to put a flocked tree with pink decorations in a little girl’s room for years now! Yes, really. 😅
I searched online for the perfect flocked tree for a while before deciding to go with this Vickerman one. I had room for (and initially wanted) a slim 7 foot tree, but this tree was sold out in that size so I went with the 6 foot option. Which works just fine!
I liked it because in addition to regular lights, it also has 50 frosted glowing orbs (I guess you could call them?). I thought they were fun!
I found that gold star tree topper at a cute boutique in Savannah last month when I was there for a girl’s trip (side note: I’ll share our itinerary on Wednesday 👌🏻). Unfortunately I can’t find a link to the exact product online, but I did link to a similar one below. 🌟
I also picked up the mini flocked tree + the small ornaments on it you see above at Anthropologie the other day when I was in the store returning something. To be honest, I may switch that tree out with something more interactive next year (like a nutcracker or an advent calendar) when Kate can participate more, but it looks cute for now! And it won’t go to waste if I decide to change it since it’s small. I’ll just move it to another room. 👍🏻
I purchased the rose gold, glittery “Merry Christmas” banner from an Etsy shop. And FYI the shop has a variety of colorways depending on your decor theme.
When I shared the banner on Instagram, a couple people messaged me asking how I kept Kate from ripping it down. 😅 I promise I don’t have a secret! I’m not sure if it’s just her temperament or the fact that she’s a girl vs. a boy (who will apparently rip these down in seconds, haha). 🤷🏻♀️ Regardless… she’s noticed it, but she just lightly touches it and hasn’t destroyed it yet. But stay tuned!
It’s not Christmas decor, but I did want to mention the teddy bear you see in the image above. It’s extremely sentimental and special to me! It’s called a “memory” bear, and my grandmother had it made out of my late grandfather’s dress shirt and the tie he wore to my wedding. The bear was such a thoughtful gift, and I love having it out on display in Kate’s room. 💖
The company (which I believe is a one woman show) is called Tammy Bears, if you’re interested. 🧸
There you have it! I’m sure I’ll tweak it a bit next year, but I love how it turned out. Kate loves looking at the lights (and mom and dad do, too!). ✨ It definitely makes bedtime a little more festive. 🤩
I’ve linked all the products for you below. 😘
