October Instagram Roundup
October was a busy (but good) month for me. As usual, there was lots of brunching and lots of happy houring - this is Austin, Texas after all. However, October was actually a really busy month at my day job. So, I did get a bit behind on the blog, but have no fear - I've got lots of fresh material for y'all coming up this month! But first, here's a look back at my October via a few of my Instagram shots that didn't make their way onto the blog - until now!
Early in the month I slipped on my burnt orange skinny jeans and a simple, lightweight Joie tee for an afternoon University of Texas football game. We lost, so to drown my sorrows we went out for some Tex-Mex and queso at Pappasito's Cantina after the game.
The yummy-looking meal above is from Hyde Park Bar & Grill. It's a good joint if you're looking for some place new to try in town. If you do, be sure to get an order of their french fries.
The shot above is one I took at the 25th anniversary of the La Dulce Vita Food & Wine Festival. The husband and I ended up lucking into some tickets from a friend and had a blast. Basically, some of the best restaurants and food trucks in Austin set up shop and serve small bites of their best dishes - amazing. Obviously, there is also a lot of wine as the name suggests. We are already looking forward to going next year.
The husband and I also went on a little double date happy hour adventure with Lauren over at Make It A Double Please (definitely check out her blog!) and her beau and had a great time. We met up at Jacoby's - a new restaurant on the east side of town. Their patio immediately made its way onto my best patios in town list, so definitely check it out. That drink to the left in the picture above is beer mixed with Big Red, so obviously it needed to be ordered simply to satisfy my curiosity. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was actually delicious and refreshing on a warm evening.
The more I'm writing this monthly recap, the more I'm realizing how much of my life revolves around eating... so here's a football picture to prove that I do other things besides eat. ;)
Ran into this little cutie on South Congress. He struck a pose for me and everything!
Also this month I ordered my first pair of Hunter Boots from Nordstrom, and I am obsessed with them. Please Lord bring on the rain!
I'm sharing the picture above simply so I can brag on myself (this is one of those "sorry not sorry" moments, y'all). One Kings Lane regrammed this particular shot over on their Instagram account. It definitely made my night! Okay my week it made my week.
More food. This time from Galaxy Cafe.
The two shots above are from our day trip to San Antonio. You can read all about that adventure here.
I posted this shot above the day after Oscar de la Renta's passing. I had just picked up his coffee table book a few months earlier, and I love the color it adds to the night table styling in our guest bedroom.
And finally, this shot above was taken during some errands on a day where it finally started to cool off a little bit. I paired this flannel shirt from J. Crew with my new jeans by Genetic and my Rag & Bone booties.
If you're so inclined, be sure to follow me on Instagram so you can see what I'm up to in real time.
And, if you're in Texas, remember to go vote today!
