Transitional Maxi for TX Monthly BBQ Fest
Maxi dress: Eight Sixty // Shoes: Sam Edelman (on sale) // Hat: David & Young (similar style here) // Bag: Old Navy, I also like this one // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban // Bracelet: Vince Camuto // Earrings: Tory Burch // Lip color: Clinique
The husband and I spent yesterday with friends at Texas Monthly's BBQ Fest, where every year the magazine invites each of the restaurants on their "Top 50 BBQ Joints" list to set up shop and pass out some tasty samples of their best stuff. BBQ, beer, and live music - events like this one are why we love living in Austin. Thankfully, our friend Tony - our group's resident BBQ expert - was with us and helped us narrow down our options. After the festival was over, we walked across the street to Sandy's and grabbed some frozen custard. Needless to say, I skipped dinner last night.
My primary styling concern was simply that I didn't want to worry about spilling food on myself. Sometimes, you just have to keep it practical. Not only did this flowy maxi accomplish that, but the colors in it happened to be perfect for transitioning into fall. Besides the pretty pattern, one detail about this dress that I love is the gold accent bar across the neckline. It just adds a little bit of flare, and it means you don't have to wear a necklace. Also - that bucket purse is from Old Navy and is only about 30 bucks. Such a great buy! I was pretty proud of myself for that find. They also have a similar one here that I love (and so does Refinery 29, btw). And there's only a few sizes left, but those Sam Edelman gladiator sandals are on sale.
Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was as much fun as ours!
